the Athletic Supporter will be posting tuesdays and fridays. the reason being... sunday nites my brain is dead from the wknd and i cant seem to put anything good down on the blog, and u know im all about quality. well, about some things at least.
brett favre retired. finally. now the debate can rest of who will retire first.. brett or aaron rodgers. favre is a legend and once in a lifetime qb. im kinda glad i lived thru his era. it was tough for my bears to play him twice a year. da bears and packers rivalry is one of the best in sports.. just like ohio state v michigan or yanks v redsox. as a bears fan, i still appreciate his enthusiasm and love for the game. he's not like many athletes who are gas faced money hungry paycheck players. as i think back on his illustrious career.. i think by far his best performance as a professional was... his cameo on there's something about mary.

i was talking to a female acquaintance the other day. we are friendly, but she's an acquaintance to me bc i don't believe in being friends with females... well, until after establishing if there will be sex or not. .. and then they are still acquaintances. only gay dudes have girls for friends. so if ur a dude and say u have a girl friend, i will just consider u to be a fag in waiting.
anyways, she just started seeing a dude.. and seemed genuinely excited about it. i asked her what makes the dude so attractive.. and what it is she's looking for exactly in a dude. she said her "list" is not long but very important. here is her top 3:
1. the guy has to be smart... like mba or phd smart. 2. has to be funny. 3. has to be hot.. in her eyes. so this dude fit all top 3 desired criteria and qualities on her list. congrats!
i wish i was as lucky as her in finding a female who fits my list. i feel like my criteria is tough to find, but not impossible. the Athletic Supporter is indeed a sucka for cornrows and manicured toes EI EI. jk. fo'real tho.. i think chicks with nose rings are hot. i got a soft spot for that.

not so typical
set out a goal this past friday to get drunk. and indeed i accomplished that goal. if u beliiiieve it, u can achiiieeeve it.
cleveland qb brady quinn is the face of commercials and ads like he's a pro bowler. oh wait, he's not even a starter!
nfl free agency has been quite active. pats looked like they were in trouble before signing moss yesterday. da bears are in some serious trouble on offense. i cant remember a time when they needed talent at every position.. except for tight end they are deep. bad bad news.
the Athletic Supporter is not too particularly satisfied with the wendy's "premium" fish fillet. the mcd's fish is still better.
had 53rd st street meat last nite. ish is off da heezy. its just as good as the first day i ever had it like 4 years ago. they ballin'.
$8 to cross the hudson?? thats more than minimum wage!! port authority are a bunch of a$$$$holes. have u ever tried to calculate how much money in tolls the PA makes in one day? gw bridge, lincoln, holland.. and the other east river crossings. safe to say well into the 7 figures per day. they never complain about budget constraints like the mta yet they increase tolls every few yrs. this is a bunch of crap. how great would it be if gas really raised to over $4 per gallon this summer. that would definitely not rock the body that rocks the party.
my friend "skip" has a tendency to disappear into thin air when he has a gf. going mia while in relationships is something the Athletic Supporter will never understand, nor approve of.
well this is also the guy that had the biggest foot in mouth of all time. as u already know by watching cops on fox channel and wildest police chases on other networks, da'skill is not a safe 'hood and it is very ethnic. but its a little strange how there was only one black family in the town when we grew up. anyways, we were in college and home for winter break. skip was attending g'town. like 5-6 guys gathered at skip's house to watch the georgetown game and throw down some cold brewskies. the Athletic Knee was there.. and the one black kid we grew up with was there also.
so.. the game is on and we're all there in the living room watching. former g'town great boubacar aw is at the free throw line.. and as aw is ready to shoot the ball, skip says.. "i met boubacar aw a few times.. and he's actually a pretty smart guy unlike ur typical ngger". as u can imagine.. the room went silent, a few mouths were open in shock, a couple dudes even pretended they never heard it. and it gets better.. so not only did skip say ngger vs. ngga.. which are two completely different contextual meanings.. skip realizes what he said and in dead silence of the room follows up with.. "oh sht". our black friend was obviously stunned and upset, and had obvious reason to be.. gets up and leaves. skip keeps diggin by sayin.. "wait dont go, u know me!" classic foot in mouth.
skip is now serving as a big brother in underprivileged urban areas of brooklyn. just kidding. skip is an overall good guy and we all dont know how or why that came out of his mouth bc we never heard him say the n word the previous 5 years of knowing him. and we all know skip felt terribly about it afterwards. skip tried to apologize to our black friend many times too. in any case, skip has provided a memory which we still talk about today and laugh about. the Athletic Knee and i tell that story to every girl he has dated too.
