i remember when rick fox joined the c's years back, a reporter asked him why he chose to wear #17. fox said that he chose that number bc he wanted to bring boston their 17th title in team history. yea ok, rick.
now that i've had some time to let the nba finals sink in, i'd like to share my thoughts.
first and foremost.. i am completely disgusted with phil jackson and the lakers team. 39-pt loss in a finals game is nauseating. this photo sums up the lake show accurately..

phil jackson's incredibly questionable substituting rotation cost them the series. how do u sit the league mvp so much? yea yea thats what they did in the regular season. um, its the nba finals. if u treat the nba finals like its the regular season, then u dont deserve to win and getting the 39-pt beating is what u asked for. ur best player plays ever single minute of the game if need be. is there no sense of urgency? phil sat kobe to start the 4th qu in game 6. sure they were down 30, but do they forget so easily how the c's have battled back from 20 down in two games?? anything is possible. basketball is a game of runs. the lakers couldve went on a 10-0 run, cut it down to 20, possibly cut it to 15 with half of the quarter left.. and 15 pts is a ball game in the nba. but instead, kobe sat and sat and sat. lakers quit.. in the nba finals. they have no pride and no fight. where is their competitive nature? the l.a. lakers organization is pathetic. absolutely unacceptable to play out the way they did. if i was the gm or owner of the lakers, i wouldve walked down to the bench and pimp slapped the ish out of phil jackson.
what a difference 5 months can make for the city of boston... it seemed just like yesterday asante samuel dropped a sure interception along the sideline that my grandma could've caught which wouldve also shut the door down on the eventual game winning drive highlighted by the tyree Emmaculate reception..

then onto the game winning touchdown..

quickly followed by a real "man to man" celebration.. whoaaa whats going on herrrre..

im actually happy that kg, pp, and jesus shuttlesworth got their rings. they have been 3 players in the nba i like watching. only thing is, i hate the fact they won it for boston. kg showed up and laid it down on the lakers front court, if thats what the lakers call it. ray ray hit 7 3-pt'ers.. he got game. pp just killed whoever was guarding him. unsung heroes for the c's... rajon rondo played a great series. yea i said it.. a GREAT series. if u think otherwise, u obviously have no idea how the game is played. kendrick perkins used his big body and pretty much neutralized pau gasol... who was owning the big men in the western conference. so much for the western conference rolling through the east huh.
but who wouldve ever thought that eddie house will save the c's. he should be the finals mvp for providing the spark off the bench the c's desperately needed. eddie hizzzouse hit several clutch shots, along with james posey who doesnt show up a lot on the stat sheet.. but plays hard and smart, and hits timely shots in the corner. did posey just win rings 2 years in a row?? bottomline.. kg, pp, ray ray deserve their rings. i am happy for them. i still hate boston tho. mostly bc they got f'd up roads up there.. once u get off an exit, there's no getting back to where u were! tell me im wrong. and bawwstonians tawwwk funny.

the dog days of summer are quickly approaching, and there is nothing good to watch until mid august when ncaa football and nfl football start to kick in. we all know baseball is as much fun as signing on to take care of online bill payments. the sport is utterly unwatchable.. even golf is more thrilling to watch, by at least a hundo times better. and thats even without HAPPY GILMORE for the rest of the golf season out with more knee surgery. so i shall start praying the summer rolls by fast so we can all start enjoying sports again. thank god for 08 olympics too.

shipwreck traumatized me

there are few athletes during a lifetime that will survive the test of time. bill russell, kareem, muhammed ali, walter payton, etc. these athletes were blessed with god given killer instincts and unmeasurable competitiveness. who are the top 3 sports killers of all time? joe montana yes. mj most definitely. but the greatest sports killer of all time... tiger woods. every sunday u know he's gonna make his run and more likely than not, take 1st place. he's just got "it". with a bum knee just 6 months after major knee surgery, he makes this incrrrrrredible putt to secure a playoff, which he won. this shot would've rimmed out for anyone else, but for tiger, its money.
who was left off this list of clutch players.. lbj bc he hasnt really done a damn thing yet. tom brady bc he let his biddies be a distraction during a perfect season. arod bc he can't buy a hit with runners in scoring position or when his team is down. one guy who should make the clutch players list, but will make this sorry ass list of unclutch players is kobe bryant. kobe is currently the best player in the nba and often mentioned as the next mj.. but i am now convinced he is no mj. and he never will be.. so do not ever compare them again. how do u go 0-2 in the 2nd quarter of game 5, down 3-1. u are the league mvp and u score 0 pts for over 15 mins in game 5. thats unacceptable. blowing a 19 pt lead and ur still gonna pass up shots?? lucky to get a W in game 5 to send it back to beantown. reaaaaal lucky. kobe better take off his skirt and start playing like the league mvp to earn some respect back. he's playing these finals like a lil biiiiatch.

great coaching by phil jackson bringing in chris mihm into an nba finals game. mihm might've played in like 4 games this season.. and very sparingly.

great upper management by the new york mets.. firing willie and pederson overnite, 3000k miles from home. spineless. criticize all u want about hank steinbrenner, but the yanks would have decency and enough class to handle business in a more professional manner.

mark jackson commentating on the game said sasha and vlad rad are fake hustlers.. bc they pretend to play defense. just like when ray ray walked by sasha the other nite to increase the lead and when pp walks by vlad rad almost every possession. fake hustlers.. i like that. sasha disgusts me, if i ever saw him on the street, i would spit on him and then kick him in the balls.

when i was a kid, my biggest fear in life was... quick sand. that ish still scares me today.

one g.i. joe cartoon series i will never forget is when shipwreck was tripping on acid.. at least i think thats what it seems like looking back. it was weird.. i did not understand what was happening to him at the time. i was just a kid, and those episodes were f'ing with my brain. damn g.i. joe.. i blame them for stunting my growth in becoming a fully mature adult.

it was weird not going out and getting drunk this past wknd. i haven't done that in a loooong time. i watched a few movies instead.. the pursuit of happyness, fast and furious in tokyo, clips of a bunch of others like sliding doors, higher learning, and a few others. and i did something over this wknd that i have never done before in my life. saturday nite, i was home.. bored.. flipping thru the channels on tv.. and i ordered pay per view..it wasnt even porn either.
it was a real movie i never got to watch, there will be blood. daniel day lewis was pretty good in it. the movie itself.. eh, i wasn't that thrilled. it was aiiiiite. the strangers was a better movie. those potato sack masks with eyes cut out are creeeepy. some words of advice, if a little white blond haired girl knocks on ur door looking for tamara.. u better bounce homey. grab a bat too on ur way out.
